USDA keeps forecast for Kazakh wheat harvest for 2019/20 flat

ALMATY. Dec 11 (Interfax) - The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has kept the forecast for Kazakhstan's wheat production for this marketing year (July 2019 - June 2020) at 11.5 million tonnes, according to the USDA December report.

The forecast for wheat exports and imports by Kazakhstan was maintained at 5.2 million tonnes and 60,000 tonnes, respectively.

The Kazakh Ministry of Agriculture forecasts the gross grain harvest in 2019 at 17 million tonnes and exports at 6-7 million tonnes.

Kazakhstan produced 22.8 million tonnes of grain in net weight in 2018. Neither the Statistics Committee of Kazakhstan's Ministry of National Economy nor the country's Ministry of Agriculture provides information on wheat production in the country.
