Russia won't be surprised by EU sanctions extension - deputy foreign minister

MOSCOW. Dec 12 (Interfax) - An extension of the package of European sanctions against Russia will not be something unexpected, Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said.

"If there is an extension, it will not be a surprise at all," Grushko told journalists on Thursday.

The Bloomberg news agency reported, citing an unnamed EU official, that on Thursday EU members were going to extend the anti-Russian sanctions, including an economic package of measures that expires on January 31, 2020.
