Russia broadening geography of use of Kinzhal hypersonic missiles, tested them in Arctic - General Staff chief

MOSCOW. Dec 18 (Interfax) - Russia is planning to broaden the geography of use for Kinzhal hypersonic missiles, which have already been tested in the Arctic, Russian General Staff Chief Valery Gerasimov said at a meeting with foreign military attaches.

"The Kinzhal air-launched hypersonic missile system is carrying out test and combat alert missions. Such missiles have been launched at ranges in various climates, including in the Arctic," the Russian Defense Ministry's newspaper Krasnaya Zvezda quoted Gerasimov as saying.

"The network of airfields, which support the broadening geography of use of this complex, is being expanded, as well," he said.
