Ukrainian, U.S. reps discuss cybersecurity

KYIV. Dec 18 (Interfax) - Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Secretary Oleksiy Danilov has held a meeting with United States Charge d'Affaires a.i. to Ukraine William Taylor to discuss cooperation, in particular the need to intensify relations in cybersecurity.

"Cyberthreats loom large today, and all countries must be ready to counter them," the NSDC press service cited Danilov as saying during the meeting on Wednesday.

The parties exchanged views on the state of affairs in European and global security in light of the situation in eastern Ukraine.

"Danilov and Taylor also discussed Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration in the context of our state's practical cooperation with the Alliance," the press service said.

Taylor, in turn, assured Danilov of the irreversibility of the U.S. support to Ukraine and expressed readiness to deepen bilateral cooperation further.
