Al-Assad invites companies from Russia to participate in digitalization of Syrian economy
MOSCOW. Dec 19 (Interfax) - A delegation from Russia led by State Duma deputy Dmitry Sablin has discussed issues relating to digital support of the Syrian economy during a meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus on Thursday.
"Al-Assad said digitalization of the Syrian economy should be done by Russian companies because information security is an important thing and a very difficult thing," Sablin told reporters after meeting with al-Assad.
Sablin said Al-Assad believes that "building a digital state is an important task, that there is need for synchronization of all existing systems, and that a comprehensive approach to resolving this state task is necessary, which Russia fully supports."
