Tokyo not setting specific timetable for concluding peace treaty with Russia - Japanese Foreign Ministry
MOSCOW. Dec 19 (Interfax) - Japan is not setting specific deadlines for signing a peace treaty with Russia, Japanese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Atsushi Kaifu said.
"It's difficult to talk about our expectations for how these talks will further evolve. It's difficult to say with certainty when and how we'll be able to reach an agreement, due to the nature of the issue, due to this issue having been unsolved for 75 years now, since the end of the Second World War," Kaifu told journalists when asked whether a specific date was set by which the two countries expect to sign a treaty.
