Uzbek CEC verifying all reports of electoral violations

TASHKENT. Dec 23 (Interfax) - The Uzbek Central Elections Commission (CEC) will verify all reports of electoral violations that occurred during the Sunday parliamentary elections, CEC Chair Mirza-Ulugbek Abdusalomov said at a briefing in Tashkent on Monday.

Information on any massive electoral violations has not been received, Abdusalomov said.

At the same time, he said the CEC hotline has received reports, proposals, and comments on some issues.

"Relevant measures were taken to consider and resolve them in accordance with the procedures and within the timeframe envisaged by law," Abdusalomov said.

There have been reports on social networks that will also be investigated, he said.

"They are saying on social networks that someone stuffed ballots into ballot boxes. There have been situations of 'family voting,' when one member of a family puts in the ballots for all family members. We will investigate each situation," Abdusalomov said.
