Presidential, Rada elections main political events of 2019 for most Ukrainians - poll
KYIV. Dec 26 (Interfax) - A total of 57.8% of citizens of Ukraine consider the presidential and parliamentary elections to be the main events of 2019 in Ukraine, according to a nationwide study conducted by the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation together with the Sociological Service of the Razumkov Center.
A total of 8.1% of respondents believe the event of the year in Ukraine was the prisoner release, 5.2% mentioned the Normandy summit, 2.3% mentioned receipt of the tomos on the autocephaly of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, and 2% mentioned disengagement in Donbas.
At the same time, 2.1% of respondents believe there were no events in Ukraine that could be called event of the year, while 14.1% did not answer the question or were undecided.
The study was conducted from December 13 to December 18 in all regions of Ukraine, excepting territories uncontrolled by Kyiv. It surveyed 2,017 people aged 18 and older. It was presented in Kyiv on Thursday.
