Putin sends New Year's greetings to heads of int'l organizations

MOSCOW. Dec 30 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent New Year's greetings to a number of heads of international organizations, the Kremlin press service said in a statement on Monday.

"The President extended his New Year greetings to a number of top officials at international organizations, in particular, UN Secretary-General Anthony Guterres, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Kristalina Georgieva, President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach, Honorary President of the International Olympic Committee Jacques Rogge, and Honorary Member of the International Olympic Committee Jean Claude Killy. The President also sent messages of greetings to President of the International Federation of Football Associations Gianni Infantino, President of the Union of European Football Associations Aleksander Ceferin, President of the International Ice Hockey Federation Rene Fasel, and President of the International Judo Federation Marius Wizer," the statement said.

Additionally, Vladimir Putin sent Christmas and New Year's greetings to some former foreign leaders and other prominent political figures, particularly Robert Kocharian, Nursultan Nazarbayev, Serzh Sargsyan, Silvio Berlusconi, George W. Bush, Romano Prodi, Nicolas Sarkozy, Francois Fillon, Tarja Halonen, King Juan Carlos I, and Gerhard Schroeder, the statement said.
