Al-Sarraj, Haftar to visit Moscow shortly, may sign truce deal - head of Russian Contact Group for Libya

MOSCOW. Jan 13 (Interfax) - Head of Libya's Government of National Accord (GNA) Fayez al-Sarraj and Libyan National Army Commander Marshall Khalifa Haftar will visit Moscow shortly, head of the Russian Contact Group for Libya Lev Dengov told Interfax.

"To my knowledge, Libyan GNA Prime Minister Fayez al-Sarraj and head of the Libyan High Council of State Khalid al-Mishri will soon come to Moscow for talks, which will focus on terms of the settlement process in Libya, including the possible signing of a truce agreement and details of this document," Dengov said.

Libyan National Army Commander Khalifa Haftar and Speaker of the Parliament seated in eastern Libya Aguila Saleh will also visit Moscow to discuss those issues, he said.

It is so far unknown whether the two delegations will meet, Dengov said.

"They will hold separate meetings with Russian officials and members of the Turkish delegation, which is working together with Russia on the matter," he said.

"Most likely, representatives of the UAE and Egypt will act as observers at the talks," Dengov said.
