Duma, govt responsible for incomplete achievement of tasks set in previous presidential address - Volodin

MOSCOW. Jan 14 (Interfax) - State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin has called for fully achieving goals set in presidential addresses.

"We should be self-critical and admit that we and Russian government have not done enough to fully implement the address. We should aim at reaching 100% of objectives so we can say we have done our best to achieve the goals set by the president," Volodin said in his opening remarks at the Duma's spring session on Tuesday.

"The plan for legislative support and tasks set by the previous address has only been fulfilled by 81%," he said.

"When we say this figure, some argue that it's big, and, in fact, it is big. Others say this is the first time we have achieved 81% fulfillment, as in the past it has been less. Dear colleagues, we have to admit that this 19% stands for unresolved problems of the people," Volodin said.
