Donbas contact group considering 9 new possible sites for disengagement
DONETSK. Jan 16 (Interfax) - The security subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group on Donbas, which is meeting in Minsk on Thursday, is examining three proposals from Kyiv and three from the Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics (DPR and LPR) on where further disengagement may be carried out, the DPR Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
"The Ukrainian side has finally presented its proposals on new sites, and the negotiators were able to collate their proposals and start working [through them]," the statement said.
The Special Monitoring Mission of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe has yet to reveal the progress status of a plan to remove fortifications at the first three pilot sites, it said.
