One LPR militiaman killed in Ukrainian army attacks in past week - Luhansk
LUHANSK/ KYIV. Jan 17 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Armed Forces have mounted nine attacks on the territory of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) in the past week, killing one militia serviceman, LPR militia spokesman Yakov Osadchy said.
"Ukrainian military units committed nine truce violations in the past week," Osadchy said.
The Ukrainian army targeted districts of Nizhne Lozove, Kalynove, Holubivske, Berezove, Sokilnyky, Donetsky, and Kirovsk, using 122 mm artillery weapons, 82 mm mortars, infantry fighting vehicle weapons, grenade launchers of different types, and large-caliber machineguns, he said.
One LPR militiaman was killed, Osadchy said.
"All attacks were documented and these materials were handed over to representatives of international organizations working in the republic and the LPR Prosecutor General's Office to be added to the criminal cases opened against the commanders of the 93rd, 59th, and 72nd brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces," he said.
The press service of the headquarters of Kyiv's Joint Forces Operation in Donbas, for its part, has said that militia forces of the self-proclaimed republics of Donbas launched 12 attacks on Ukrainian forces' positions near Travneve, Novotoshkivske, Myronivsky, Luhanske, Novozvanivka, Orekhove, and Zaitseve on Thursday, killing a Ukrainian serviceman.
