Russian, South Sudanese FMs to hold talks in Moscow on Jan 28
MOSCOW. Jan 23 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will hold negotiations with South Sudanese Foreign Minister Awut Deng Acuil in Moscow on January 28, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.
"The foreign policy chiefs will hold a detailed exchange of opinions on key items of the international and regional agenda, with emphasis placed on preventing and unblocking crisis situations in Africa and opposing international terrorism," Zakharova said at a news briefing on Thursday.
"The parties also plan to consider the situation in South Sudan itself, where a peaceful settlement of the internal military-political conflict is continuing," she said.
The two foreign ministers will discuss "the status and prospects of continued development of Russian-South Sudanese friendly ties in the political, trade-economic, humanitarian, and other fields," Zakharova said.
Awut Deng Acuil will be in Moscow from January 27 to 29.
