Some 20,000 flights screened for coronavirus as part of preventive measures - Rospotrebnadzor
MOSCOW. Jan 29 (Interfax) - The Russian consumer rights watchdog (Rospotrebnadzor) has tightened sanitary control on the border and has inspected 20,000 flights in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
"Sanitary-quarantine control has been increased at Russian border checkpoints [...] A total of 20,000 flights (6,700 from China) were screened at checkpoints between December 31, 2019 and January 24, 2020," the agency said in a statement on Wednesday.
Regional branches have been notified of the latest changes in sanitary control procedures and questionnaires have been organized and put in place for people returning from China, the statement said.
