U.S. ambassador expecting constructive arms control cooperation with Russia, deems China's involvement in talks to be important
MOSCOW. Jan 31 (Interfax) - New United States Ambassador to Russia John Sullivan hopes that Washington and Moscow will continue to engage constructively in arms control issues as they near the end of the current START agreement in February 2021.
"We have had very candid conversations with senior Russian officials, and it is my hope that we will continue to engage constructively as we near the end of the current START agreement in February 2021," Sullivan said in an interview with Interfax.
"And, it is important that China be included in any multilateral negotiation," he said.
