No conditions for Zelensky's visit to Washington - Pompeo
KYIV. Jan 31 (Interfax) - There are no conditions for an official visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Washington, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said.
There have been no conditions for Zelensky to visit Washington, Pompeo said at a briefing with the Ukrainian president in Kyiv on Friday.
The only thing that needs to be done is to find an appropriate time for a meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Pompeo said. The United States wants to be convinced that this will happen at a time when considerable progress is going to be manifested, he said.
The United States and Ukraine are facing a great deal of work, Pompeo said. The U.S. sees economic potential for U.S. enterprises, he said.
The U.S. will always welcome President Zelensky in Washington, Pompeo said, adding that he is certain that such a meeting will take place.
