Chinese citizen hospitalized with coronavirus in Transbaikal territory recovering - Rospoterbnadzor
CHITA. Feb 1 (Interfax) - The Chinese citizen, who has been infected with coronavirus and hospitalized in the Transbaikal Territory, is recovering, the chief of the Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing's (Rospotrebnadzor) Transbaikal Territory branch, Svetlana Lapa, told journalists.
"This citizen's disease is progressing easily. He is in satisfactory conditions. He is recovering," she said.
The Chinese citizen with a suspected coronavirus was detected on the first day upon crossing the Russian border in the Transbaikal Territory. He is in a specialized isolated ward.
"A whole set of sanitary and epidemiological measures is underway in the Transbaikal Territory, including on the border with China. All border crossing points are currently closed. A special medical station examining all citizens arriving from China is operating in the Transbaikal Territory," Lapa said.
All necessary supplies of medical equipment and medicine are available in the region, she said.
