Putin will discuss impact of coronavirus on oil market with Saudi leaders if necessary - Peskov

MOSCOW. Feb 3 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin is actively interacting with the leaders of Saudi Arabia and will discuss the impact of China's new coronavirus on falling oil prices, if necessary, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"The president is maintaining rather close contact with the leadership of Saudi Arabia. Such contacts will be made, if necessary; we will keep you posted," Peskov said at a press briefing on Monday.

Journalists asked whether Putin was planning talks with the Saudi administration to discuss the oil market and the fall of oil prices due to the outbreak of the new coronavirus in China.

There was a follow-up question as to whether such contacts had been planned. "We will tell you if [such plans] are made," Peskov said.
