CEC announces ruling party's victory in Azerbaijani parliamentary elections

BAKU. Feb 10 (Interfax) - The ruling party New Azerbaijan will have at least 70 out of 125 seats in the new parliament, the Central Elections Commission (CEC) said in a statement after counting all votes cast in the early parliamentary elections on Sunday.

The CEC has processed voting protocols from all 5,573 polling stations in 125 constituencies.

About 80 candidates will be reelected, and the parliament will have 18 female members, including Chairperson of the State Committee on Family, Women, and Children Affairs Hijran Huseynova, the statement said.

The elections saw a 47.81% voter turnout.
