Pneumonia rate not rising in Russia - Rospotrebnadzor
MOSCOW. Feb 21 (Interfax) - Doctors are monitoring the pneumonia rate in Russia against the backdrop of the Covid-19 epidemic in China, and the situation remains stable so far, Rospotrebnadzor said in a statement on its website on Friday.
"For the purpose of comprehensive evaluation of the situation, Rospotrebnadzor is supplementing the monitoring of seasonal cold and flu infections with the monitoring of community-acquired pneumonia rates in all constituent territories of Russia; these rates remain at the annual average," the statement said.
Rospotrebnadzor said earlier today that Russia had not recorded any new Covid-19 cases in its territory. Pneumonia is a complication caused by the disease.
