Kyrgyzstan temporarily stops issuing visas to Chinese citizens due to coronavirus - Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry
BISHKEK. Feb 21 (Interfax) - Kyrgyzstan has suspended the issuance of visas to Chinese citizens due to the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus in China, the press service for the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry told Interfax on Friday.
"The closure of the border with China and the suspension of visa-issuance to Chinese citizens are temporary. Only the issuance of primary visas has been suspended," the press service said.
The restrictions were imposed based on a February 3 Kyrgyz government order, it said.
According to earlier reports, on February 3, Kyrgyzstan temporarily closed its state border and suspended air traffic with China due to the spread of coronavirus.
