Al-Sarraj, Haftar yet to comply with agreements reached at Berlin Conference on Libya - Bogdanov

MOSCOW. Feb 26 (Interfax) - The opposing sides in Libya do not seem to be ready to fulfill the decisions made at the Berlin Conference, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said at the Russian Public Chamber on Wednesday.

"It is crucial that head of the Libyan Government of National Accord [Fayez] al-Sarraj and Libyan National Army commander [Khalifa] Haftar support the basic principles of military and political settlement, which were agreed upon at the Berlin Conference. They do not seem to be ready to do so, thus far," Bogdanov said.

Despite Russia's arguments, the final document of the Berlin Conference was approved without the Libyan parties, he said.

"Therefore, this document, just like the summit itself, is just another attempt to push a ready-made settlement formula on the Libyans," Bogdanov said.
