Syrian air defense downs Turkish attack drone - Russian Defense Ministry
MOSCOW. Feb 28 (Interfax) - Syrian air defense downed a Turkish attack drone which violated Syrian airspace and aimed to attack government forces on February 25, the Russian military said in a statement.
"An Anka unmanned aerial vehicle in the attack configuration of the Turkish Armed Forces crossed into Syrian airspace and violated the state border at 8:15 a.m. Moscow time on February 25, 2020," head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria Rear Adm. Oleg Zhuravlyov said at a press briefing on Thursday.
"Syrian air defense downed the drone at 8:50 a.m. Moscow time as it was preparing to strike on the positions of government forces in the Maarzaf area," Zhuravlyov said.
