Ukraine begins 3-week quarantine - deputy

KYIV. March 11 (Interfax) - Educational establishments will be closed, mass gatherings and sporting events will be banned, and flight communication with some countries will be temporarily discontinued in Ukraine between March 12 and April 3, Viktoria Syumar, a people's deputy from the European Solidarity faction, said, citing a government decision.

"Quarantine has been imposed. Starting tomorrow for three weeks. Until April 3. It envisages closing educational establishments, a ban on mass gatherings attended by more than 200 people. This applies to sporting events (which can be held without viewers, and cultural events; Verkhovna Rada sessions will continue); the closure of air communication with some countries," Syumar said on Facebook on Wednesday, citing the government decree.
