Putin to Assad: Russian-Turkish accords will help stabilize Idlib situation

MOSCOW. March 6 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has informed Syrian President Bashar al-Assad of outcomes of the recent Russian-Turkish top-level meeting in Moscow, the Kremlin press service said on Friday.

"Vladimir Putin informed Bashar al-Assad of agreements reached at the Russian-Turkish top-level meeting on March 5, stressing that their implementation would help stabilize the situation in the Idlib area," it said.

"Bashar al-Assad praised the outcomes of the negotiations between the Russian and Turkish leaders and helped the Russian president for support in fighting terrorist groups and for efforts aimed at ensuring Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity," it said.
