Russian farms boost milk production 4.2% to 15.5 mln tonnes in 11M - AgMin

MOSCOW. Dec 31 (Interfax) - Russian agricultural enterprises boosted milk production 4.2% year-on-year in January-November to 15.5 million tonnes, the Russian Agriculture Ministry said.
Production grew most at farms in the Kaluga, Voronezh, Belgorod, Ryazan, Kirov and Tyumen regions and in Chuvashia.
Average milk yield per cow at agricultural enterprises rose 387 kg to 6,335 kg. This rose in 67 regions, but most of all in the Penza, Leningrad, Kaliningrad, Kaluga and Lipetsk regions.
The number of cows increased 20.8% in the Kaluga, 9.2% in Ryazan, 3.8% in Belgorod, 21.6% in Tula and 13.8% in Kaliningrad regions.
