Putin confident about Russia's successful development in New Year's greetings to Russians (Part 2)
PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY. Dec 31 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has said in his New Year's address to Russians that the country is living through turbulent and contradictory times, but Russians can do everything for Russia to develop successfully.
"You and I are already on the threshold of the third decade of the twenty-first century. We live in tumultuous, dynamic, and contradictory times, but we can and should do all we can for Russia to develop successfully and so that everything in our lives will change only for the better," Putin said in his New Year's greetings.
Private plans pursued by Russians as well as their dreams are integral to Russia, he said.
"The present and future, as well as the futures of our children, depend on the efforts and contributions of each of us. Only together will we resolve those issues faced by our society and our country today. Our unity is the foundation for achieving the highest goals," Putin said.
These values have been passed down to the current generation from their parents and grandparents, who "were a heroic and staunch generation of victors."
The coming year will mark the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941 to 1945, Putin said.
"I wholeheartedly congratulate war veterans and home-front workers, members of the older generation, and all those who passed through the hardest of ordeals for the sake of you and me, and for the sake of the future of our motherland. I bow down to you," he said.
In spite of having a lot that needs to be done, Russians, above all, value the warmness of human relationships, as well as friendly communication, and seek to do something important and useful for others, as well as to help those who need their support throughout the New Year, Putin said.
"Bright New Year's sentiments, wonderful impressions have been living in us since our childhoods and return to us each New Year when we hug our nearest and dearest, our parents, and we prepare surprises for our children and our grandchildren, decorating the New Year's tree together with them, taking out toys, ornaments, and glass fairy lights. These sometimes old, but favorite family toys give their warmth to younger generations already," he said in his New Year's message.
Despite the fact that each family has their own New Year's traditions, all of them are united with an atmosphere of kindness and care, Putin said.
"Let the happiness of mutual understanding forever live in your home and help overcome all difficulties and consolidate various generations. Let your parents be healthy and always feel your attention, and let each child know that he or she is the most loved," he said in his greetings to Russians.
