Russia, China to continue cooperation on medical education, innovations - Russian health minister
MOSCOW. Nov 2 (Interfax) - Medical education and innovations will be among the key areas of cooperation between Russia and China within the next few years, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said.
"It is medical education, we have spoken about it together. The second thing is innovations," Murashko said on Monday at the National Healthcare congress with international participation upon being asked which area of Russian-Chinese cooperation could be made a priority for the next two-three years.
"When speaking about strategies, innovations, solutions, preparedness for emergency situations must never be forgotten," he said.
Russia and China have held a joint emergency response exercise this year, Murashko said.
The Russian Health Ministry's press service said in a statement later that Murashko and Chairman of China's National Health Commission Lei Haichao signed a roadmap on cooperation to advance the healthcare sector's digital transformation at a meeting on the sidelines of the National Healthcare congress.
The sides discussed national priorities, the record of implementing healthcare development strategies, the adoption of innovative technologies, and Russian-Chinese cooperation prospects. Healthcare cooperation between Russia and China covers medical education, scientific research, the development of new technologies, and experience sharing, the press service cited Murashko as saying.
