Russian gas supplies to Armenia continue as normal - Gazprom Armenia

YEREVAN. Nov 2 (Interfax) - Supplies of gas to Armenia continue as scheduled, Gazprom Armenia told Interfax on Monday.

"Natural gas supplies from Russia to Armenia are being carried out as normal," the company's press service said.

In late September, the Armenian newspaper Graparak, citing Russian sources, reported that Russia planned to halt gas supplies to Armenia from November 1.

Armenia meets almost all of its needs through Russian gas. In 2025, Gazprom supplied around 2.7 billion cubic meters of gas to the country. Another approximately 476 million cubic meters are provided annually from Iran under the gas for electricity program: Armenia supplies electricity to Iran, mainly generated at the Razdan Thermal Power Plant, and Iran supplies natural gas to Armenia based on a ratio of 3 kWh per 1 cubic meter of gas.

Russia supplies gas to Armenia at a price of $177.5 per 1,000 cubic meters. The gas price is fixed in an agreement that is in effect until the end of 2026 and the beginning of 2027.

Russian Security Council Deputy Secretary Alexei Shevtsov previously said that Armenia purchases gas from Russia on preferential terms, and importing fuel from other countries would cost Yerevan substantially more.
