Zaporozhye NPP to reach full capacity sooner or later - Rosatom CEO
MOSCOW. Oct 30 (Interfax) - Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) will reach capacity sooner or later, efforts to ensure this are continuing nonstop, Rosatom CEO Alexei Likhachev said.
"A great of deal of this work, theoretical but also practical, has been carried out. And the main dream, our main idea, which is vital for the people of Energodar, is to get the NPP run at full capacity, this will happen sooner or later," Likhachev told journalists on the sidelines of a Russia-Africa summit on Friday.
Earlier this week, Russia's nuclear oversight agency Rostekhnadzor issued a license for the NPP's Unit 6, he said. "Licenses continue to be issued. We have licenses for Units 1 and 2, and we already received one for Unit 6 this week," Likhachev said.
"The topic of the Zaporozhye NPP licensing is very important from the standpoint of Russian oversight and Russian laws," he said.
