Uzbekneftegaz discussing gasoline, diesel purchases with CNPC

TASHKENT. Oct 30 (Interfax) - Uzbekneftegaz is discussing supplies of gasoline and diesel fuel to saturate the domestic market with China's CNPC, the Uzbek company's deputy chairman Farid Muminov said.

"Today, there are various risks related to the stable provision of the population with petroleum products. To eliminate these risks and prevent their occurrence, we are considering diversifying imports. In particular, CNPC has a subsidiary, PetroChina. We have also held negotiations with it. Supplies of petroleum products (gasoline and diesel fuel) were discussed, as well as an increase in imports of crude oil and condensate for processing at our Bukhara Oil Refinery," Muminov said at a press conference.

At issue are imports of gasoline with an octane rating of 92 and higher, Muminov said.

Negotiations are ongoing, and supply levels may vary depending on domestic market demand, he said.

As reported, Uzbekneftegaz Chairman Abdugani Sanginov discussed the possibility of organizing long-term supplies of petroleum products for the Uzbek domestic market with a CNPC delegation led by its president, Zhou Xinhui, on October 20.
