Departure of 4th tanker with Russian diesel to U.S. scheduled for Oct 28 - deputy PM

MOSCOW. Oct 27 (Interfax) - Russian companies are preparing to send a fourth vessel with diesel fuel from Russia to the United States, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told journalists on the sidelines of the 28th Ministerial Meeting of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF).

"Currently [there are] three vessels en route to the U.S. We expect [the departure of the fourth tanker] on the 28th," Novak said.

On the whole, the general agreements between the leaders of the two countries, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, are being implemented despite pressure from Democrats regarding the deals, Novak said. As reported, Democratic senators and members of the House of Representatives sent letters to a number of banks and seaports asking them to preserve all information on transactions with Russia in case of a potential investigation into the diesel agreement with Moscow. The letters emphasize that, in the congressmen's view, the diesel agreement with Russia may carry risks for U.S. national security.

"On the whole, of course, the position of the Democrats, who speak out or even act not in the interests of the residents of the United States, is surprising," Novak said.
