Belarus ready to contribute to Mongolia's food security - Lukashenko

MINSK. Oct 26 (Interfax) - Belarus stands ready to make a major contribution to ensuring Mongolia's food security, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said after talks with Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh on Monday.

"Belarus is ready to make a significant contribution to ensuring Mongolia's food security. Our capabilities combined with Mongolia's scale simply prompt us to engage in large-scale projects. We will speed up the construction of dairy factories and will intensify the transfer of Belarusian agricultural technologies," Lukashenko was quoted by his press service as saying.

Belarus is also ready to cover Mongolia's needs for quarry, passenger and municipal machinery and to develop service infrastructure, he said, adding that cooperation in the consumer goods industry will also be expanded.

"The results of the Belarusian-Mongolian talks at the top level have reaffirmed both sides' strong commitment to converting the high level of political mutual understanding between Minsk and Ulaanbaatar into major economic projects," Lukashenko said.
