Putin, Witkoff specifically discuss resumption of trilateral talks - Ushakov

MOSCOW. Oct 21 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff specifically discussed the resumption of trilateral talks in the Russia-U.S.-Ukraine format, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov said.

"It's important to note that the issue of possible resumption of trilateral talks involving representatives of Russia, the United States and Ukraine was discussed specifically," Ushakov told reporters on Wednesday.

"It is known that their planned resumption immediately after the State Duma election was disrupted by the Ukrainian regime itself, through supermassive strikes on the main voting day on Moscow, other cities, polling stations and directly on employees of elections commissions, of which some were killed," Ushakov said.

"The situation was analyzed again, including with regard of the signals received from the Americans," Ushakov said.

Witkoff arrived in St. Petersburg for talks with Putin on Wednesday.
