Putin, Witkoff agree that diesel deal to help stabilize global market - Kremlin aide
MOSCOW. Oct 21 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff noted at their talks in Moscow on Wednesday that the Russian-U.S. diesel supply agreement was mutually beneficial and should help stabilize the global energy market, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov told reporters.
"The discussion touched upon issues related to the implementation of the agreements on the supply of Russian diesel fuel to the U.S. and global markets, which Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump had agreed upon during their phone call on October 9," Ushakov said.
"Both sides emphasized that the deal served not only American and not only Russian interests, but would also help stabilize supply and demand on the global fuel market," he said.
"Considering that the U.S. administration has lifted certain sanctions on Russian diesel, practical work in this area has already begun," he said.
