OPEC+ increases oil production in Sept compared to Aug by 956,000 bpd, but falls short of plan by 5.45 mln bpd
MOSCOW. Oct 13 (Interfax) - The OPEC+ countries participating in the agreement increased oil production in September compared to August by 956,000 barrels per day to 30.753 million bpd; the shortfall from the plan narrowed to 5.45 million bpd, according to the association's monthly report.
Several Persian Gulf countries drove the increase in production. Saudi Arabia increased output by 744,000 bpd to 8.001 million bpd and Iraq increased production by 386,000 bpd to 3.92 million bpd.
The combined production of the countries in the region (Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Iran and the United Arab Emirates; OPEC does not provide data on Qatar) grew by 990,000 bpd and reached 20.593 million bpd. The UAE, which has left OPEC and OPEC+ and for which the alliance continues to provide data, increased oil production by 86,000 bpd in September to 3.917 million bpd.
Russia's oil production fell insignificantly in September compared to August - by 38,000 bpd to 8.643 million bpd, falling short of the plan by 1.306 million bpd.
In turn, Kazakhstan continues to increase production. The country increased production in September compared to August by 22,000 bpd, to 1.851 million bpd. This is 223,000 bpd above the country's established quota within OPEC+.
Overall, the OPEC countries participating in the deal increased oil production in September by 973,000 bpd to 16.782 million bpd (below the plan by 3.834 million bpd); non-OPEC countries saw production fall by 18,000 bpd to 13.971 million bpd (shortfall: 1.619 million bpd).
