Yandex dealing with incident at Sasovo data center, restoring operation of affected services

MOSCOW. Oct 8 (Interfax) - Russian technology group Yandex has reported an incident at its data center in Sasovo, Ryazan Region that has affected some of its services.

"An incident has occurred at the data center in Sasovo that has affected some infrastructure. The situation at the site is now under control, there were no injuries. The team is remedying the consequences of the incident and restoring the operation of affected services," the company said on Thursday.

The company said that the data center has been completely shut down and specialized services are onsite dealing with the consequences of the incident.

However, Yandex's main services are operating normally, although some of them may be unavailable to users, the company said.

The data center in Sasovo, which is located on part of the former premises of the Sasta plant, went into operation in 2014. Yandex laid several fiber optic lines between Sasovo and Moscow in order to connect the center to the common network.

PJSC Sasta is a manufacturer of threading machines for use in difficult conditions. The company supplies its products to engineering plants in Russia and also exports.
