Cardinal Zuppi meets Kremlin aide, Russian ombudsman, children's ombudsman to discuss Ukraine - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. Sept 30 (Interfax) - Cardinal Matteo Zuppi, the Pope's special envoy for settling the Ukraine conflict, was on a working visit to Moscow from September 28 to 30, during which he met with Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov, Human Rights Commissioner Yana Lantratova, and Commissioner for Children's Rights Maria Lvova-Belova, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"During the conversations held in the context of the conflict surrounding Ukraine and prospects for its resolution, the parties discussed interaction between Russia and the Holy See on humanitarian issues, including a search for missing persons, exchanges of prisoners of war and civilians, reunification of families, and the so-called children's dossier," the ministry said in a statement on its website on Wednesday.

"Cardinal Zuppi's visit has confirmed constructive and regular dialogue between Russia and the Vatican, both parties' commitment to continue cooperation on the humanitarian track," the statement also said.
