Russia's GDP grows 0.8% year-on-year in Aug, 0.6% in 8M - econ ministry

MOSCOW. Sept 30 (Interfax) - Russia's GDP is estimated by the Economy Development Ministry to have grown 0.8% year-on-year in August 2026, after growing 0.6% in July, 0.5% in May, 1.6% in April and 1.9% in March, and falling 0.9% in February and 1.6% in January, the ministry said in a report on the current situation in the economy, published on Wednesday.

The ministry estimated that Russia's GDP had grown 0.6% in January-August 2026.

As reported, the Economy Development Ministry raised its GDP forecast for Russia in 2026 to 0.6% from 0.4% in the May version.

The Central Bank of Russia lowered its GDP growth forecast to 0%-1% from 0.5%-1.5% in the previous version from April.

Analysts surveyed by Interfax in early September forecast that Russia's GDP will grow 0.5% in 2026.
