All social obligations to Russian population must be met in forming budget - Putin

MOSCOW. Sept 30 (Interfax) - Social obligations of the state will be met in forming the budget for the next three years, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"The government has drafted a budget package. These are crucial documents in which resources must be precisely calculated and our capabilities balanced against current priorities and strategic goals. While maintaining macroeconomic stability, we must fund all national projects and federal programs. The state's social obligations to our population must be and undoubtedly will be fulfilled in full," Putin said at a plenary meeting of the State Duma, which opened its autumn session.

The federal budget for the next three years is one of the major bills of the autumn session, Putin said.

"It is necessary to assign sufficient funds for the achievement of crucial demographic objectives and the improvement of living conditions and wellbeing of Russian families, above all those with children. It is also necessary to support regions, their budget stability, the tax base and the economic development in general, its sustainable and long-term growth, alongside the launch of a new investment cycle," he said.
