Nura Electric commissions $50 mln electrical engineering products plant in Uzbekistan

TASHKENT. Sept 30 (Interfax) - The Uzbek company Nura Electric has commissioned a complex for producing electrical engineering products in the Tashkent region, with investments in the project amounting to $50 million.

"The complex is one of the largest and most high-tech projects for producing high-voltage and low-voltage electrical equipment for the energy industry in the Central Asian region. Its launch is part of the work on localizing production of equipment and components, developing industrial cooperation and mastering import-substituting products," a statement on the company's website said.

The enterprise covers an area of 200,000 square meters, and the plant is expected to produce more than 25,500 units of electrical engineering products of around 1,500 types annually. The average level of localization is set to rise to 60%.

Around 1,000 new jobs will be created as part of the project.

Nura Electric is a manufacturing company founded in 2016. It is part of the Nura Group holding. It specializes in developing and producing electrical engineering products and solutions in the field of power supply, automation and ventilation, and implements full-cycle projects for the energy sector.
