Russia's Primorye, Sakhalin import more than 61,000 tonnes of fish products in Jan-Sept 2026

YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK. Sept 30 (Interfax) - The Sakhalin region and Primorye Territory imported 61,600 tonnes of seafood from other countries in January-September 2026, with the bulk accounted for by imports from Southeast Asia, the press service of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance's (Rosselkhoznadzor) Primorye Interregional Department said on Wednesday.

"Since the beginning of the year, the territorial department of Rosselkhoznadzor has monitored more than 4,700 imported batches of fish and seafood with a total weight of 61,600 tonnes for compliance with Russian requirements. The largest amounts of products were imported from China, Vietnam and the Republic of Korea," the press service said.

From September 21 to 27, Primorye and Sakhalin imported 101 batches of seafood with a total weight of 1,500 tonnes. The batches included mussels, shrimp, roasted eel, and various types of canned and dried fish products. The goods came from 11 countries - China, Vietnam, Korea, Bangladesh, India, Ecuador, Thailand, Argentina, Chile, the UAE and Indonesia.
