Rosnedra to re-evaluate oil and gas resources in Russia in 2027-2028

KISLOVODSK. Sept 29 (Interfax) - The Federal Subsoil Resources Management Agency (Rosnedra) plans to begin a quantitative assessment of Russia's hydrocarbon resources in 2027, Nina Yerofeyeva, Director of the Department of Oil and Gas, Groundwater, and Underground Structures at Rosnedra, told Interfax.

"We will begin recalculating resources for Russia as a whole next year, taking into account all the work carried out in the interim, both by subsoil users and by us. The re-evaluation process usually requires two years. I believe that we could approve the updated resource data in 2029," Yerofeyeva said on the sidelines of the Groundwater. A quantitative assessment of oil and gas resources in Russia was last conducted in 2017.
