Kazakhstan proposes joint projects based on critical raw materials to Germany

ASTANA. Sept 29 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan has proposed creating joint production facilities with Germany using critical raw materials, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.

"We are offering our German partners more than guaranteed supplies: the joint building of complete production chains - from exploration and extraction to processing, component manufacturing and material reuse," Tokayev said in an article for the German newspaper Handelsblatt.

"Kazakhstan already produces 21 of the 34 raw materials the European economy considers strategic. These include lithium, silicon, cobalt, niobium, tungsten and copper. These materials are essential for the energy transition, engineering, industrial production, microelectronics and digital technologies," he said.

The article was published as part of Tokayev's official visit to Germany, which he travelled to on Monday.
