Azerbaijan signs agreements worth $10.8 bln during AIIF 2026 forum

BAKU. Sept 28 (Interfax) - Azerbaijan signed agreements with international investors and partner companies for a total sum of $10.8 billion on the margins of the second Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2026) on September 25-26, the country's Economy Ministry said.

"In total, 23 agreements and documents were signed as part of AIIF 2026," the ministry said.

The signed documents cover such areas as artificial intelligence, energy (including renewable energy), construction, the digital economy, industry, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, finance, water management and others.

Among the signed documents are a final investment decision on the full-scale development of the Absheron gas condensate field between SOCAR, XRG and TotalEnergies; a framework agreement on strategic partnership between SOCAR and Comstock Resources; a memorandum of understanding between SOCAR and Apollo on strategic partnership for investments in upstream exploration and production projects; a memorandum of understanding between SOCAR and Securing Energy for Europe GmbH (SEFE) on cooperating in natural gas, LNG, energy security, development of energy infrastructure and production projects; an agreement between SOCAR and ExxonMobil on exploration, development and production sharing of unconventional hydrocarbon resources in Azerbaijan's Middle Kur depression; an agreement on strategic cooperation between SOCAR and VNG; an agreement on a trilateral joint venture between the Azerbaijan Business Development Fund and the Indian company UFlex Group, and an agreement on strategic partnership and investment framework between the Azerbaijani Economy Ministry and Carlsberg Group, and a number of others.

Taking into account the projects announced as part of Baku Energy Week held in June this year, the total value of planned joint projects will reach $16.7 billion, the Economy Ministry said.
