Russia resumes supplying gas to Armenia - Gazprom Armenia

YEREVAN. Sept 25 (Interfax) - Russia has resumed supplying natural gas to Armenia on Friday, having suspended supplies since September 15, Gazprom Armenia said.

"As of September 25, natural gas supplies to Armenia via the North Caucasus-Transcaucasia main gas pipeline have resumed. Gas pumping had been temporarily suspended owing to scheduled maintenance and repair work on the pipeline in Russia," the Gazprom Armenia press service reported.

The company has said that consumers in Armenia will be supplied with gas without disruptions or restrictions throughout this period thanks to domestic reserves and additional natural gas imports from Iran.

Armenia covers practically all of its domestic needs through Russian gas imports. In 2025, Gazprom exported approximately 2.7 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas to the country, and a further 476 million cubic meters is supplied from Iran each year as part of the "Gas for Electricity" program. Armenia exports electricity to Iran, primarily produced at the Hrazdan Thermal Power Plant, and Iran supplies natural gas in exchange at a ratio of 3 kWh per 1 cubic meter of gas.

Russia exports gas to Armenia at a price of $177.5 per 1,000 cubic meters. This gas price is fixed by an agreement which is valid until late 2026-early 2027.
