Russia exports 400 tonnes of beef to Turkey in H1 2026 - Agriculture Ministry

MOSCOW. Sept 25 (Interfax) - Having secured the right to export beef to Turkey in 2025, Russia supplied 400 tonnes to the Turkish market in the first half of 2026, Russia's Agriculture Ministry reported following a meeting between Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut and Turkey's Agriculture and Forestry Minister Ibrahim Yumakli.

Russia proposed expanding the group of Turkish importers by involving private companies.

Beef supplies are currently handled centrally through the Meat and Milk Board. Russian producers are prepared to supply chilled beef and premium cuts directly. Export potential is estimated at 5,000-10,000 tonnes per year.

The two countries boosted mutual trade in agricultural products 5.5% in 2025, with Russia raising exports 9.2%, primarily grains and legumes, as well as oil and fat products, while imports from Turkey mainly comprise fruit and vegetables.
