Russia, Tajikistan updating roadmap for cooperation in agro sector for 2027-2029

DUSHANBE. Sept 22 (Interfax) - The Russia-Tajikistan working group on agricultural cooperation has discussed updating the roadmap for 2027-2029 aimed at bolstering collaboration in the sector, according to the Russian trade representation in Tajikistan.

According to the trade representation, the meeting occurred simultaneously at the premises of the respective Russian and Tajik agriculture ministries, with the participation of the trade representation, ahead of the 22nd meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation between the two countries.

Specifically, the parties reviewed key areas of cooperation in the agricultural sector, including the developing trade in agricultural products and foodstuffs, boosting supplies of Tajik products to the Russian market, ensuring veterinary safety, and supplying of veterinary vaccines. The agenda also covered cooperation in agricultural education and professional development, livestock farming, breeding and seed production, land reclamation, and the digitalization of the agro-industrial complex.

The parties upon concluding the meeting reaffirmed their mutual interest in developing agricultural cooperation, expanding trade and economic ties, and preparing new joint projects within the roadmap for 2027-2029.
