Russian govt ready to work with newly elected State Duma - PM

MOSCOW. Sept 21 (Interfax) - The Russian government will continue constructive cooperation with the newly elected State Duma, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.

"We are looking forward to constructive interaction with the State Duma of the ninth convocation in order to continue working toward the national goals set by the head of state for the benefit of our citizens. After all, their support is an absolute priority for the government," Mishustin said at a meeting with deputy prime ministers.

He said that the recent vote marked a crucial milestone. "Such feedback from citizens reaffirms support for the president's course. This is a great responsibility that demands an effective approach from every deputy and civil servant," Mishustin said.

"This choice, the trust placed in us by the people, must certainly be cherished," he said. "I am confident that all participants in the electoral process understand this perfectly well. Among them are many veterans of the special military operation who courageously defended our country on the battlefield. Their services will be valuable within government bodies nowadays as they act in Russia's interests," Mishustin said.

He thanked everyone who ensured the strict observance of the voting procedure, including members of electoral commissions, observers, volunteers, and law enforcement officers.
